The Storm

Sometimes we're so focused on the storm on the horizon, we miss the blessings right in front of us.  To put it another way, I recently read of a teacher encouraging students to "be where their feet are" - if you're in history don't worry about math.  God knows what we need, we pray, we seek Him, and His peace will guard us.  


This doesn't mean we live unprepared and irresponsibly.  But instead we look ahead with trust not fear, hope not despair.  We remain calm in the presence of God. We put our minds on what is praise worthy.  We don't focus on the storms in the distance.

Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
