How Do You Feel?

The Olympics ended recently, which means a couple things…  Due to emotional genetics from my father, I cried a lot at the excitement of victory, or even mild success for these athletes, many of whom don’t get the spotlight very often.  It also means we had a heavy dose in a short time of my least favorite post victory interview question: “How are you feeling right now?”

Both made me think about my faith, though.  I’m thinking there should be way more times I get choked up about the victory I have in Christ; bursting with emotion because of how amazing it is that He loves me and saved me from sin and death when I’ve done nothing to deserve it.

And what about that question?  Picture a reporter asking you: “You are saved by grace through faith in Jesus.  You deserve eternal death but instead you have eternal life in Him!  How do you feel right now?”

Just like the athlete, that should be a fairly obvious answer, but sometimes we lose that joy in the midst of life.  Let's make an effort to remember that inexpressible joy and the victory we have in Christ, and to share it with those around us.

Follow Jesus Lead Your Family.

'Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. '

1 Peter 1:8-9 ESV
