GIVING UP

For lent this year I'm giving up not sharing Jesus. I suppose it's more clear to say I'm committing to sharing Jesus during lent, but that's not as accurate....
For months I've been less active in many of the usual ways I share and spend time in my faith. I've been bogged down by several things, but a couple have dominated my thoughts. The first is our current political climate. The second is denominational differences. I’ve spent far too much time unhappy about these things and looking for just the right way to say something that may make a difference. All I’ve accomplished is getting myself increasingly frustrated and stuck.
I’ve never been one to focus much on giving things up for lent, but it’s time I give up worrying about the negatives or seeking the insightful comment. It's time to do more of what I've been doing less - sharing and praying. It’s time to speak more often the simple truth that I believe God is in charge. I believe no one is worthy of His love and grace but through the death and resurrection of Jesus, God gives love and grace to all who believe in Him.
So for lent I'm giving up not sharing Jesus…
